Meta Tag Generator
Fill in the fields once and get title, description, Open Graph and X card tags together, with live Google and social previews. Ready to paste into your <head>.
Use a full https:// address. Best size: 1200 × 630 pixels.
What each tag does
The title and meta description are your shop window in Google: they usually become the blue link and the grey text under it. The canonical link tells search engines which address is the main version of the page, so copies with tracking codes or different paths don’t compete with each other.
Open Graph tags (og:) control the card people see when your page is shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack, Discord and most chat apps. X card tags (twitter:) choose the card layout on X. X falls back to the Open Graph title, description and image when its own tags are missing, but it still needs twitter:card to show the large image.
Need tags for a specific platform?
Most website builders don’t let you paste raw HTML for every page. Use the platform pages below: they turn the same information into exactly what WordPress, Shopify, Blogger, Webflow, React or Next.js expects.
How to use the Meta Tag Generator
- Fill in the title, description, page URL and share image.
- Copy the generated block.
- Paste it inside the <head> of your page, or into your CMS’s custom-code field.
Frequently asked questions
What is a canonical tag for?
It tells search engines which address is the main version of a page, which prevents duplicate-content problems when a page can be reached at several URLs.
What size should the share image be?
1200 × 630 pixels works well for Facebook, LinkedIn and X large cards.
Do I need Twitter tags if I have Open Graph?
X reads Open Graph as a fallback, but the twitter:card tag is still needed for the large-image layout.
